Building Operator Certification® (BOC) Training
Would you like to help your company identify energy efficiency opportunities and earn a practical certification that can help you get your next job or promotion?
Ameren Illinois, in partnership with MEEA (Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance), is hosting BOC Level I Training in the fall of 2019. You are encouraged to attend this certification training that can help boost your career!
Building Operator Certification (BOC) is a nationally recognized training and certification program focusing on energy-efficient building operations and preventative maintenance procedures. Independent research shows that BOC operators consistently improve comfort and save money and energy in their facilities — up to $20,000 a year — thanks to energy conservation projects, air quality improvements and other initiatives.
BOC Level I training includes eight sessions held every Thursday (8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.), nearly 74 hours of classroom, and project work (7.4 CEUs) in building systems maintenance. Participants must complete seven required courses, open-book exams, and projects to become certified. The first course spans two days (Oct. 1-2). Remaining courses will be held every Tuesday.
During the seven required courses, operators will receive an overview of the building shell and review the design and maintenance of energy-using systems and equipment.
