The Tree Planting Initiative is partnering with municipalities to plant trees in communities across the service territory. The Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program plants trees that will provide shade and reduce energy costs for customers.

This no-cost Initiative plants trees in the easement areas next to customers’ yards which provide summertime shade and can reduce energy usage by up to 25%.* Beyond reducing energy costs, trees also offer benefits including beautification, health and wellness, improved air quality, increased property values and wildlife habitat.
