Custom Projects

Do you have an idea for an energy efficiency project that is not covered by a standard incentive? Custom incentives are available for projects or processes unique to your business or facility.

If you have an idea for an energy-saving project that is not eligible for other Ameren Illinois incentives, you may benefit from our Custom offering.

Financial Incentives for Custom Projects

Financial incentives are available for a variety of Custom projects, including:

Compressed air
New construction
Large HVAC projects
Heat recovery for furnaces and process equipment
Water treatment process improvements
Reduced heat loss from boilers and ovens
Combined Heat & Power
And more…

Custom Project incentives are based on energy reduction:

INCENTIVE TYPE	Incentive Rate
Custom Electric Projects	$0.16/kWh ($0.06/kWh after first 3,125,000 kWh); capped at 80% of project cost
Custom Electric Projects (Public Sector or DS2)	$0.20/kWh ($0.06/kWh after first 3,125,000 kWh) capped at 80% of project cost
Custom Gas Projects	$1.00/therm ($0.50/therm after first 100,000 therms) capped at 80% of project cost
Custom Gas Projects (Public Sector or GS2)	$2.00/therm ($0.50/therm after first 100,000 therms) capped at 80% of project cost
Feasibility Study	Up to 75% of study cost or 75% of estimated annual savings identified, whichever is less, capped at $20,000
Custom Water Projects	$0.30/1,000 gallons saved

Pre-approval is required for all custom projects. You must submit all paperwork and documentation for review prior to starting your project.
