Frequently Asked Questions

You may still be eligible for other home energy upgrades through additional Initiatives.

There are more savings opportunities available for customers who don’t qualify based off income.

Possibly. If you meet the eligibility criteria for the Initiative, and you are a renter with an Ameren Illinois account in your name, then you can still complete the application.

After completing the application, the next step would be for your landlord to complete a the Healthier Homes Property Owner Consent Form to allow permission for your rental to participate in the Initiative.

Through a home assessment, your home will be inspected by trained and certified Program staff. After a full inspection, a work order will be created that outlines the type of upgrades and minor repairs that were identified in the assessment.

The Initiative only allows for upgrades and minor repairs. That does not include full-on construction such as roof replacement, extensive plumbing or siding.

Upgrades and minor repairs under the Healthier Homes Initiative are performed by contractors who are enrolled with the Ameren Illinois Energy Efficiency Program, also known as Program Allies. They have been trained and vetted and understand the standards of quality required for their work to remain in the Program.

In order for your home to be eligible for the Healthier Homes Initiative, the entire household income must be included.

After the work in your home is completed, a final inspection takes place to ensure that everything was completed and completed to our quality standards.

Window replacements are not eligible under the Healthier Homes Initiative.
